The Idea
The newest addition to the CNSRV line of products, the CNSRV DC:02 | GEN 2, is the winner of the 2026 National Restaurant Association Show Kitchen Innovations Award. As the flagship of the current CNSRV product line, the GEN 2 introduces new electronics, improving functionality and ease-of-use to the end user via a digital display, providing information and taking the guesswork out the user experience.
The DC:02 | GEN 2 was designed at Pulse to replace running-faucet thawing – which wastes up to 460 gallons per hour – with a closed-loop recirculating system that works in half the time using 98% less water. Our process involved evolving the already successful Pulse-designed GEN 1, to improve food safety and food handling practices. Now consideration was given to custom filters that mount to the unit’s water intake. Thereby capturing debris before it enters the system, for simpler cleaning, no buildup, sustained performance over time.
The DC:02 | GEN 2 is also tailored to be integrated with the Pulse-designed Wall Mount and Sink Mount; making a full system that can seamlessly be incorporated into any professional kitchen. And, just as with GEN 1, CNSRV worked with our team on all facets of work, including packaging, photography, trade-show presence, support graphics, and more!

Completing the System
At Pulse we offer a wide breadth of services, and we had a blast working with the CNSRV team utilizing many to “complete the system”. This included design of the packaging for the unit and its various accessories (and designing the accessory products themselves)! It also involved design of the GEN 2 manual, directing a professional photoshoot to illustrate the unit in action, development of all the brand’s printed materials, and design of CNSRV’s multiple tradeshow booth displays at the 2026 National Restaurant Association Show.
